About the role

We’re a small, fast-moving team building the tools that property investors and home buyers wish they’d had years ago. Our first product, Investment Analyser, is already live; next up are Site Intelligence, Development Screener, and Suburb Rankings. We’re looking for a full-stack developer who can own features from database to UI and help us ship the next wave of products.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain full-stack features across our Ruby-on-Rails backend and React frontend.
• Collaborate with the founder to refine product requirements and translate them into clean, performant code.
• Optimise database queries and caching strategies to keep response times under 100 ms.
• Write automated tests (RSpec, Jest) to ensure reliability as we scale.
• Monitor error logs (Sentry) and proactively fix issues before users notice.
• Deploy updates multiple times per week using GitHub Actions and Render.
• Participate in code reviews and help establish best practices for the team.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience building web applications with Ruby on Rails and React.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with PostgreSQL (indexing, query planning, partitioning).
• Comfortable with both frontend and backend debugging (browser dev tools, Rails console, logs).
• Familiarity with modern JavaScript (ES6+, TypeScript is a plus).
• Experience with automated testing frameworks (RSpec, Jest, or similar).
• Ability to work independently in a remote-first environment.
• Based in Australia (AEST/AEDT timezone).
