Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional Offering Core Teams through product planning, definition, development, qualification, launch, and post-launch support.
  • Translate customer needs, market requirements, technology capabilities, and business objectives into optimized product definitions.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project plans, master schedules, resource plans, budgets, and project commitments.
  • Cook up activities across hardware engineering, software engineering, marketing, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, services, and external partners.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, cost, project expense, product quality, and overall execution.
  • Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and manage issues, changes, and dependencies throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Lead product scope discussions, investment reviews, development checkpoints, and executive status updates.
  • Make informed trade-off decisions involving product features, schedule, cost, quality, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor project performance using key metrics and communicate progress to executive leadership.
  • Drive product launch readiness, including manufacturing transition, supply readiness, quality execution, and production ramp.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by monitoring product performance after launch and responding to changing business and market conditions.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • Two or more years of project management or product development experience.
  • Experience supporting hardware and/or software product development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of product development methodologies and project management principles.
  • Understanding of PC products, product development processes, and industry trends.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional organizations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Willingness to support global teams, including occasional early morning and evening meetings.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Experience leading cross-functional hardware and software development programs.
  • A balanced background with exposure to both hardware and software development.
  • Knowledge of project planning, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and change management.
  • Experience presenting project updates and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Interest in building a long-term career supporting ThinkPad product development and innovation.
