Pay Rate: $27 - $27.69/hour
About the role
We are seeking a Thermal Testing Engineer to support thermal testing, laboratory validation, and data collection initiatives that enable reliable system performance and engineering decisions. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in thermal testing, temperature measurement, laboratory system assembly, setup, and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct hands-on thermal testing, temperature measurement, and data collection to support engineering validation activities.
- Assemble, configure, and troubleshoot laboratory test systems and equipment.
- Execute thermal test procedures and document test results, observations, and findings.
- Support the setup and validation of liquid-cooling test systems and related thermal test configurations.
- Analyze test data and communicate results to engineering stakeholders to support technical decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams on test planning, execution, troubleshooting, and validation activities.
- Maintain accurate laboratory documentation, test records, and technical reports.
Internal Responsibilities
- Attend regular internal practice community meetings.
- Collaborate with your itD practice team on industry thought leadership.
- Complete client case studies and learning material (blogs, media material).
- Build out material to contribute to the Digital Transformation practice.
- Attend internal itD networking events (in person and virtual).
- Work with leadership on career fast-track opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years of relevant industry experience, or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands-on experience in thermal testing, temperature measurement, and data collection.
- Hands-on laboratory experience with system assembly, test setup, and troubleshooting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with liquid-cooling test setup and validation.
- Strong understanding of mechanical material properties, particularly metals, thermal interface materials (TIM), and EMI gasket materials.
- Familiarity with thermal analysis and simulation tools, such as FloTHERM.
