About the role
The Therapy Services Manager oversees the outpatient and inpatient therapy services department, supervising staff including Physical Therapists, PTAs, aides, and clerical staff. Duties include performing the duties of a staff Physical Therapist, participating in weekend call schedules, managing the department's operational functions, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Supervise therapy staff, including Physical Therapists, PTAs, aides, and clerical staff.
- Perform duties of a staff Physical Therapist to meet patient care needs.
- Participate in weekend call schedule.
- Manage the Therapy Services department, including staffing functions, recruitment, selection, training, orientation, and performance reviews.
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures and maintain department supplies and equipment in good repair.
- Participate in the facility-wide Performance Improvement (PI) program, including development and review of internal department quality monitors, tracking, and reporting quarterly PI findings in a timely manner, reporting all patient quality issues, and facilitating ongoing education for staff regarding their role in the PI process.
- Attend manager and other required meetings to represent the interests of the department.
- Represent the interests of the department to the Director of Clinic Operations for non-clinical department operations and the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for clinical issues and concerns.
- Work with the CMO for Physical Therapist annual reviews.
Requirements
- Graduate of a master's or higher degree program in Physical Therapy.
- Licensure in the State of Idaho required.
- Outpatient Therapy Experience Preferred.
- Minimum of three years of inpatient physical therapy required.
- Previous leadership or management experience preferred.
- Able to demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks, use good judgment in delivering patient care, and communicate effectively with patients, family members, care team members, and providers.
