Therapy Aide / Hospital Assistant

About the role

Harborview Medical Center - Rehab Therapies is seeking a Therapy Aide / Hospital Assistant / Nursing Assistant Certified (NAR) to join our team. The position offers a 100% FTE (40 hours per week) schedule from Monday to Friday, Day Shift.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains equipment, including mats, wheelchairs, CPMs, parallel bars, toys, and loaner bathroom equipment
• Maintains cleanliness and order in work area, gyms, and supply and storage areas
• Delivers equipment to appropriate departments; obtains supplies from other departments
• Maintains a safe clinical environment including proper procedures, body substance isolation, and identifying unsafe situations
• Emails and alpha pages workgroup members with information updates
• Transfers patient to and from appropriate conveyances (wheelchair, Hoyer lift, and mat or tilt table)
• Cultivates and demonstrates positive work attitudes and relationships
• Sets up equipment, as necessary, for therapist use and patient care; assists in setting up special equipment
• Provides routine inspection and maintenance of department equipment; removes faulty or damaged equipment from service, and reports to appropriate personnel
• Assists clinical staff with tasks (record retrieval, filing, faxing, photocopying, arranging interpreter services, charge prep) and provides direct patient care (ADLs, exercise, ambulation, positioning, safety support during treatments)

Requirements

• Nursing Assistant-Registered (NAR) with the State of Washington
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Six months experience involving customer service in a health care setting OR six months experience involving direct patient care OR equivalent education/experience
• Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers upon hire

Compensation, Benefits & Position Details
