Therapy Aide

Location: Saddle Brook, NJ

About the role

Our inpatient rehabilitation hospital is committed to providing exceptional and compassionate care to address the medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges for individuals with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in the rehabilitation process under the direction of a therapist by providing requested activities.
• Prepare and maintain equipment and the physical plant for daily activities.
• Lift patients to/from mats, treatment and tilt tables, wheelchairs, and other equipment as appropriate.
• Assist patients with transfer activities to all surfaces.
• Help patients don and doff all appliances specific to the facility/department.
• Position patients in parallel bars and prepare patients for standing with appropriate orthotic/prosthetic devices and equipment.
• Transport patients to/from therapy as needed.
• Assist the therapist with other patient‑related treatment activities and provide equipment.
• Set up equipment and position patients in preparation for therapy sessions in accordance with State Practice Minimum Requirements.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Certified Basic Life Support (BLS) with the American Heart Association, required prior to start.

Preferred Qualifications

• One or more years of hospital experience as a therapy aide.
• Six months of general maintenance experience and use of hand/power tools.

Pay

$19.50 – $27.35 per hour (based on experience).

Schedule

Full‑time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, with an alternating weekend and some holidays.
