About the Role

The Therapist will provide therapeutic support for clients with mental health, behavioral health, and substance abuse issues. All therapy services must be conducted in the office or at one of our support/crisis center locations (e.g., teletherapy to be done in office). We focus on the promotion of recovery, symptom reduction, increasing coping skills, and the achievement of the highest level of social functioning.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and evaluations to diagnose mental health disorders and develop appropriate treatment plans. Utilize a variety of assessment tools and techniques to gather information about clients’ mental health status.
• Offer evidence-based individual therapy sessions tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions to provide support, build coping skills, and promote interpersonal growth among clients.
• Collaborate with clients to create personalized treatment plans that outline therapeutic goals and strategies. Regularly review and adjust treatment plans based on clients’ progress and changing needs.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records, documenting all client interactions, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant information in accordance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
• Respond to clients in crisis situations with immediate therapeutic intervention to ensure safety and stability. Provide ongoing support and resources to help clients manage crises and prevent future occurrences.
• Take crisis calls and level of care determination calls.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in mental health counseling or crisis intervention is preferred. Experience in providing on-call crisis services is highly beneficial.
• A master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field is required. Interns for counseling and psychology are welcome to apply.
• State licensure as a mental health professional (e.g., Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist) is required.
• Additional certifications in crisis intervention, drug and alcohol counseling, or trauma-informed care are advantageous.
• Must pass drug screening and background check.
• Must be willing to receive vaccinations in accordance with hospital and state requirements.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.

Skills & Knowledge

• Knowledge: Methods and techniques of interactive treatment/therapy of patients with mental health concerns; clinical documentation requirements; state and community resources for patients with mental health conditions; current concepts, theories, and terminology used in diagnosis and treatment of persons in need of behavioral health care.
• Skills: Strong leadership ability and excellent verbal and written communication; evaluation of family dynamics, social influences, and interpersonal relationships; interaction with clients and their families, therapeutic intervention, interviewing patients and family members/community representatives.
• Abilities: Provide counseling interventions that build on individual and family strengths and address ongoing mental health needs; complete biopsychosocial assessments and treatment plans; assess risk, safety, and crisis situations with ability to take necessary steps and develop safety plans; engage with diverse populations and provide interventions and services with cultural humility; interface and collaborate with other departments to contribute to the skill set and achieve common goals.

Pay

Starting salary: $95,000 per year. Sign-on bonus: $5,000 (paid in 2 installments).

Schedule

This role is onsite in Las Vegas, NV and is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.
