The Association for Individual Development (AID) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower people with physical, developmental, intellectual, mental health challenges; those who have suffered a trauma; and those at risk, to enjoy lives of dignity and purpose. We are looking for a Therapist QMHP BH Bilingual who demonstrates this mission and wants to work for an organization that makes a difference in the community.

Responsibilities

  • Provide case management and counseling services to clients diagnosed with persistent mental illness, including translation into Spanish when needed.
  • Work with a team of behavioral health service providers to ensure a positive client-centered approach.
  • Develop and implement individual treatment plans using the IM+CANS to maximize clients’ independent community living skills.
  • Complete documentation of mental health services in accordance with state and agency standards.
  • Promote client wellness through coaching, counseling, consultation, motivational enhancement, and information and referral services.
  • Provide effective individual, couples, and family counseling as assigned.
  • Complete clinical assessments that meet the requirements of program funders and applicable administrative rules.
  • Refer clients for community-based case management services as needed.
  • Complete required documentation (IM+CANS, encounters, consents) on a timely basis.
  • Meet minimum service hours provision/billing standards.
  • Acquire and maintain required certifications and trainings.
  • Abide by AID’s Code of Ethics, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain professional judgment and performance regardless of personal issues.
  • Complete treatment plan development meetings with clients.
  • Obtain input from consumers and other stakeholders on how to improve service provision.
  • Provide outcome evaluation data to supervisor.
  • Maintain positive professional working relationships with agencies, stakeholders, and coworkers.
  • Provide documentation to assist clients in maintaining public entitlements as applicable.
  • Assist clients in obtaining/maintaining public entitlements.
  • Participate in agency committees as assigned.
  • Provide counseling/therapy services to clients in their home, community, or office setting.
  • Promote awareness and respect for the diversity of clients, employees, families, and other stakeholders.
  • Attendance at scheduled work hours, including evening hours.
  • Use of personal automobile, maintain valid Illinois driver’s license, and meet/maintain driving record standards as defined by AID’s insurance carrier.
  • Maintain automobile liability insurance as defined by AID’s personnel policies.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a human service field required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in behavioral health preferred.
  • Fluent verbal and written Spanish and English.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications.
  • Complete CEUs required to maintain clinical licensure, if applicable.
  • Flexibility to work evening hours.
