Position Summary
The Program Therapist is an active member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, providing direct patient care. Major job functions include individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, and family sessions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual therapy sessions.
- Facilitate group therapy and family sessions.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Perform psychosocial assessments.
- Develop and update treatment plans.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of one year in a mental‑health setting preferred; experience in direct care, family/group therapy, crisis intervention, clinical assessment, and treatment planning.
- Licensure: Texas license in a social‑work or clinical mental‑health field (e.g., LPC‑Intern, LPC, LMSW, LCSW, LCDC).
- Additional requirements:
- Complete “Handle with Care” training within 90 days of hire and before any restraining procedures.
- Pass competency assessments within 90 days of hire and annually thereafter.
- TB test and CPR certification must be current before working with patients.
- Knowledge of CMS, TJC, TAC, OSHA, state and federal regulatory requirements, and hospital policies.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, holidays, and weekends.
Schedule
Flexible hours with required overtime, holiday, and weekend coverage as needed.
