About the role

The Pain psychologist – PhD/PsyD, LP will provide specialized psychological assessment and evaluation, consultation, education, and patient/family support, as necessary. The position requires the practice and understanding of pain psychology with assessment of adult and geriatric patients. Special areas of focus include pain and trauma.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients referred by neurology, neurosurgery, medical spine, physical medicine and rehabilitation, among others.
• Participate in multidisciplinary care for appropriate patients.
• Hire, train, and manage staff.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Doctoral Degree recognized by the Board of Psychology.
• Certified competency in a relevant clinical area.
• Two (2) years of post-doctoral supervised experience meeting the requirements of the Minnesota Board of Psychology for licensure at the doctoral level. At least one year should include supervision by a licensed clinical psychologist.
• Licensure as a doctoral level psychologist in the State of Minnesota.
• Experience practicing as a pain psychologist in a neuroscience medical setting, working collaboratively with specialty physicians including pain physicians, neurologists, neurosurgeons and behavioral health clinicians.
• Experience practicing as a pain psychologist in the assessment and evaluation of pain (e.g., musculoskeletal, trauma, and surgical).
• Experience practicing as a pain psychologist in a multidisciplinary team environment.
