Therapist III
About the Role
The Therapist III makes treatment and level-of-care decisions independently and collaborates with physician providers as needed. As an autonomous outpatient provider, the therapist manages their own schedule, refers patients to higher levels of care, and requests consultations. They are individually credentialed with payers to bill for services, and no referral is required to initiate treatment.
The Therapist provides individual, family, and group therapy, as well as collaborative care in the outpatient setting. Responsibilities include completing patient assessments, planning therapeutic interventions and follow-up care, implementing treatment plans, and coordinating the treatment process. They demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide services appropriate to the age and cultural diversity of patients served.
Schedule
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday
Requirements
- Graduate Degree (required); Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field
- Minimum of three years of experience (required)
- Licensed Clinical Mental Health Clinician, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Counselor, or Clinical PhD/PsyD level Psychologist (required)
- For the Substance Use Therapist role: Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist or Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate with the above required license (preferred)
- NC state-approved curricula for restrictive interventions within 3 months of hire (required for applicable roles; exemptions apply for strictly remote or behavioral health outpatient clinic positions)
- Completion of NEC0170 De-escalation Techniques and Effective Communication Strategies within 3 months of hire (required for behavioral health outpatient clinic positions)
Skills
- Good working knowledge of computers
- Ability to care for Behavioral Health Age-Specific populations
