About the role

The Therapist II is responsible for making treatments and level of care decisions independently. They collaborate as needed with their physician partners. The Therapist II provides complete patient assessments, plans for therapeutic interventions and appropriate follow-up care, implements treatment plans, coordinates the treatment process, and handles discharge planning. The role also demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate to the age and cultural diversity of the patients served. The Therapist II reports to the Supervisor of Behavioral Health Therapy and/or Manager of Behavioral Health Operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide complete patient assessments, therapeutic intervention planning, and follow-up care.
• Implement and coordinate treatment plans and discharge planning.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills to serve patients of diverse ages and cultural backgrounds.

• Establish and maintain control of violent patients, defend self and others against violent assaults, and react appropriately during a psychiatric crisis.
• Continue professional development and assume responsibility for continuing education.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
• 2 years of relevant experience.
• Licensure as LPC, LCSW, Clinical Psychologist, or LMFT.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification required within 3 months of hire.
• BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Good working knowledge of computers.
• Ability to care for Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse populations across diverse age groups.

Physical Demands

• Constant standing, frequent walking, and bending/stooping.
• Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills; attention to detail and legible writing ability.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 100 lbs (use Safe Handling Equipment for weights over 35 lbs).
• May require the use of safety equipment, such as a HEPA mask, for infection prevention.
• On-call responsibilities as directed.
• Ability to travel between campus buildings, remote facilities, and out of town as needed.

Pay

The base compensation range for this role is $29.01 - $46.19 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate’s qualifications, previous work experience, and education. This range does not include applicable incentive compensation programs such as shift differentials, clinical ladders, or other incentives available for eligible positions.
