About the role
Provide direct therapeutic services within our behavioral health and substance use treatment programs. Responsibilities include comprehensive clinical assessment, treatment planning, individual and group therapy, family engagement, crisis intervention, and coordination of care. Manage an assigned caseload and collaborate with medical providers, case management, and interdisciplinary treatment teams to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments, including ASAM criteria, biopsychosocial evaluations, and other required diagnostic tools within established timeframes.
- Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized, measurable treatment plans in collaboration with patients and the multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Present assessment findings and treatment progress during treatment team meetings and case reviews.
- Complete required ASAM documentation for admission, continued stay, transfers, and discharge.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy services in accordance with program standards, including regular individual sessions and daily process groups.
- Facilitate therapeutic, psychoeducational, and experiential groups that promote insight, skill-building, accountability, and recovery-focused progress.
- Assist patients in identifying strengths, challenges, and barriers to recovery, adapting therapeutic approaches to meet diverse needs.
- Apply clinical judgment to support patient movement through appropriate levels of care and prepare patients for post-discharge recovery.
- Maintain regular communication with families and support systems, including family sessions and collateral contacts, as clinically indicated.
- Coordinate with referral sources and external providers to support continuity of care.
- Collaborate with case management and aftercare services to develop comprehensive discharge and continuing care plans addressing legal, financial, vocational, and psychosocial needs.
- Apply sound clinical judgment in crisis situations, including suicide risk assessments, safety planning, and de-escalation interventions.
- Maintain professional boundaries and enforce program rules in a firm, fair, and respectful manner.
- Demonstrate adherence to ethical standards, patient confidentiality laws, and organizational policies.
- Complete clinical documentation accurately and within required timeframes in accordance with organizational policies, licensure requirements, and accrediting body standards.
- Maintain secure clinical records and ensure documentation clearly reflects patient progress toward treatment goals.
- Participate in supervision, quality improvement activities, and ongoing professional development.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or another related human services field that qualifies the individual to pursue professional clinical licensure.
- Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience providing therapy in behavioral health and/or substance use treatment settings, strongly preferred.
- Active clinical license in the applicable state (LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, or equivalent), strongly preferred.
- Experience working in residential, inpatient, or detoxification levels of care, strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of state and federal confidentiality regulations.
- Familiarity with Joint Commission standards and clinical documentation requirements.
- Strong clinical assessment, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage a clinical caseload and work effectively within a multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems (Kipu preferred).
Schedule
Full-time, Tuesday - Saturday (8:00am - 4:30pm)
Pay
$68,000 - $72,000 annually
