Therapeutic Support Specialist – Group Home – PRN

About the Role

As a Therapeutic Support Specialist on our Group Home Residential team, you'll play a key role in providing compassionate care and support to adult residents with severe and persistent mental illness.

• Engage residents in fun activities that help them reconnect to things they enjoy and make them feel good about themselves.
• Help residents develop essential life skills like cooking and cleaning, how to cope with their symptoms, and problem solving.
• Lead outings, assist with medication administration (training provided), and create a warm and welcoming environment where residents thrive.

Schedule

This is a PRN (part-time, on-call) position with a flexible schedule. Shifts are available on weekdays, overnights, evenings, and weekends.

• Pick up at least 24 hours of shifts per month, including certain holidays.
• Be available to pick up shifts with as little as two hours' notice.
• Shift lengths are 4, 8, and 12 hours.

Pay

Enjoy competitive pay rates with shift differentials for evening, overnight, and weekend shifts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (no college degree required).
• Obtain Heartsavers CPR certification within 90 days of hire and maintain it for continued employment.
• Complete Level 1 Medication Aide (LIMA) licensure course and exam within the first 90 days of employment; certification must remain current per the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services (DHSS).
• Obtain a valid Class E Missouri or Kansas driver’s license.
• Be comfortable and competent operating a 15-passenger van within 3 months of employment and obey all traffic laws while on duty.
• Successfully clear the Family Care Registry background check.
• Complete all required training as outlined during orientation and by leadership within established timelines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Personal lived experience with recovery from mental health or substance use disorders.
• Documented experience assisting patients with activities of daily living (e.g., home health or residential experience).
• Prior experience in a mental health care setting.
