Therapeutic Recreation Service Technician - Lifestyle Wellness (Butte, MT)

Responsibilities

• Ability to work independently in assigned location/region
• Ability to travel via personal vehicle or AWARE vehicle to client or service area
• Experience leading and instructing participants in gaining life skills
• Experience in planning and leading recreational activities
• Implements interventions that are sensitive to the client age, cultural background, stage of development, limitations of disabling conditions, skill and experience level.
• Role model by demonstrating and engaging in activities alongside client to help promote positive lifestyle skills
• Aid TRPD in creating protocols for interventions that include short term goals and criteria for assignment
• Observe client response to intervention to verbally communicate and collaborate with TRPD and treatment team members
• Document outcomes of the intervention in EHR per policy to provide evidence for TRPD needed for evaluation of TR program effectiveness.
• At time of transition or discharge, provides TRPD with client information to assist in formulating a transition/discharge plan.

Talents, skills, and abilities

• A High School Diploma or HSE is required, along with past employment experience.
• Must have, or be willing to obtain, a valid Montana Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record.
• Must have an acceptable criminal and protective services background check.
