Therapeutic Recreation Service Technician - Lifestyle Wellness (Anaconda, MT)

Responsibilities

• Work independently in an assigned location or region.
• Travel via personal vehicle or AWARE vehicle to client or service areas.
• Lead and instruct participants in gaining life skills.
• Plan and lead recreational activities.
• Implement interventions sensitive to client age, cultural background, developmental stage, and limitations of disabling conditions.
• Role model by demonstrating and engaging in activities alongside clients to promote positive lifestyle skills.
• Assist the Therapeutic Recreation Program Director (TRPD) in creating protocols for interventions, including short-term goals and criteria for assignment.
• Observe client response to intervention and verbally communicate with the TRPD and treatment team members.
• Document outcomes of interventions in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) per policy to provide evidence for TRPD evaluation of program effectiveness.
• Provide the TRPD with client information at transition or discharge to assist in formulating a transition or discharge plan.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or HSE is required, along with past employment experience.
• Must have, or be willing to obtain, a valid Montana Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record.
• Must pass an acceptable criminal and protective services background check.

Pay

Therapeutic Recreation Service Technicians earn $17.75 per hour.
