Therapeutic Home Specialist (Adult)
Devereux-Arizona’s Therapeutic Foster Care Program (TFC) serves children and adults with significant behavioral and emotional needs. Individuals are referred to Devereux via Arizona behavioral health networks and several tribal entities. Therapeutic foster parents are extensively trained to address each individual's intense needs and work with them toward their treatment goals.
About the role
Reporting to the Foster Care Coordinator, Therapeutic Home Specialists (Adult care) supervise and support therapeutic home providers in maintaining and delivering high-quality behavioral health services to TFC individuals who have a wide range of social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. Therapeutic Home Specialists typically have a caseload of 10 individuals placed across 5-7 licensed therapeutic foster homes. Each foster home receives a home visit at least once every two weeks, with homes spread out across the county.
This position participates as an active member of the treatment team by conducting assessments, facilitating service/treatment plan development, review and implementation, developing, supporting, and monitoring behavioral interventions, and performing crisis intervention/stabilization through consultation, support, and coordinating services.
Work occurs in-office, home, community settings, and throughout Devereux Arizona premises. Ability to commute throughout Maricopa County utilizing your own vehicle (with mileage reimbursement).
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments of individuals in therapeutic foster care.
- Facilitate service and treatment plan development, review, and implementation.
- Develop, support, and monitor behavioral interventions.
- Perform crisis intervention and stabilization through consultation, support, and service coordination.
- Supervise and support therapeutic home providers to maintain high-quality behavioral health services.
- Conduct bi-weekly home visits to licensed therapeutic foster homes.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.
- Four (4) years of related experience with a high school diploma/GED OR one (1) year of experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
- Must be 21 years of age or older (per licensing standards).
- Valid Arizona Driver's License & pass DMV 36-month history check.
- Must attend New Hire Orientation Mon - Fri 8:30am-5:00pm (paid).
- Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable).
- Drug test within 24 hours of offer with negative results.
- Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions (or eligibility to obtain with no restrictions).
Pay
$20/hr - $22/hr
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
