About the role
Theatrical Customer Service Associates are responsible for greeting customers, answering their questions, providing product information, and helping them find the right products. They also assist with product inquiries and recommendations, processing customer returns, handling complaints in a timely and professional manner, sales transactions, including operating the point-of-sale system and handling payments.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the store and warehouse by restocking shelves, maintaining cleanliness, and organizing displays.
- Aid in inventory management, assist with receiving new shipments, conduct stock counts, and report low stock or discrepancies.
- Manage and put away returns, and contribute to resolving customer issues and meeting customer goals.
- Assist with cross-departmental workloads to ensure excellent customer experiences.
Requirements
- Computer literate and comfortable using a computer for various tasks, preferably proficient in Google Workspace (formerly known as G Suite).
- Basic understanding of stagecraft, lighting, sound, rigging, and set construction.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems, and other industry-specific software.
- The ability to clearly communicate product information and assist customers with concerns and complaints.
- Competence in using point-of-sale (POS) systems, basic math skills, and computer literacy.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to be clear and concise via phone, email, and in person.
- Able to work steadily at a computer for long periods of time.
- Able to operate hand and power tools.
- Able to lift at least 50 lbs without assistance.
- Able to frequently climb and descend stairs and ladders and to work safely at heights.
Qualifications
- A friendly demeanor, enthusiasm for customer service, and the ability to build customer loyalty.
- A valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation required.
Skills
- Knowledge of wigs, stage makeup, and makeup.

Pay
This position is paid on a commission-based basis, with a base salary provided upon successful completion of training.
Schedule
Hours vary based on the specific theatre and show schedule, typically ranging from 8 hours per day to 12 hours per day, Monday through Friday, with additional hours on weekends and evenings as needed.
