Theatre Specialist

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Theatre Planning staff on a variety of design and project tasks
• Contribute to preparing client advisory and contract drawings
• Conduct research and perform calculations
• Develop equipment layouts and details
• Attend client meetings to support client needs
• Support planning and design teams in the design and documentation of projects
• Document theatrical lighting infrastructure, rigging systems, theatre seating layouts, and back of house design
• Apply technical theatre background to participate in design studios and discussions
• Cross-train to support audio video or architectural lighting projects
• Travel for meetings and site visits as required
• Manage small projects under senior staff supervision as experience is gained

Requirements

• Approximately 4 years of experience in technical theatre, live entertainment production, and/or theatre production design
• Experience with architectural or construction field a plus
• Knowledge of stage rigging and lighting systems; familiarity with other stage equipment valued
• Proficient visual and verbal communicator
• Ability to manage multiple tasks to meet client deadlines
• Comfortable completing tasks independently and working in small teams
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit, with at least one year of experience creating technical drawings preferred
• Experience with Revit 2024 and higher a plus
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu or Adobe Acrobat desired
• Knowledge of graphics editing software and Enscape a plus
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills, personal initiative, and understanding of technical theatre and live performance required

Pay

Salary range: $58,000 — $65,000 per year, commensurate with ability and experience.
