Discover this great opportunity in our Qatar location supporting the U.S. Air Force’s critical mission. You will be part of the 9th Air Force (9AF) United States Air Force Central Command (AFCENT), the Air Force Service Component of United States Central Command (USCENTCOM), responsible for U.S. security interests in 27 nations spanning from the Horn of Africa through the Persian Gulf region into Central Asia. This position supports the 9th AF Theater Security Cooperation (A5) Plans and Requirements Directorate.

About the Role

As the Theater Security Cooperation Analyst, you will review, analyze, and make recommendations to USAFCENT/A5 on political-military, economic, and military-to-military cooperation events for the command’s operations. You will provide expertise in coordinating multilateral engagement events, including the Middle East Air Symposiums, regional air shows, conferences, seminars, and engagement programs in alignment with the 9 AF AFCENT Theater Security Cooperation (TSC) Plan and applicable guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and provide expertise in preparing senior leader correspondence to U.S. and foreign leaders, staffing processes, and documentation (Task Management Tool, electronic Staff Summary Sheet), and briefings.
  • Provide regional expertise encompassing political-military factors, intelligence developments, and current operational considerations.
  • Advise the 9AF AFCENT/A5 on strategy supporting the long-range TSC effort.
  • Develop strategic, operational, and tactical objectives and coordinate programs supporting TSCP objectives.
  • Provide input to financial plans supporting TSC program accomplishment.
  • Assist with management of TSC information management tools.
  • Review Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Headquarters, Air Force (HAF), USCENTCOM, and USAFCENT security cooperation guidance and translate it into actionable objectives.
  • Assist in the quarterly assessment of the 9 AF (AFCENT) Theater Campaign Support Plan and develop briefings and presentations documenting assessments.
  • Develop and track FY financial plans supporting TSC events.
  • Input and analyze TSC data from IT systems such as G-TSCMIS, SOCIUM, C2IE, and CFR.
  • Provide inputs to 9 AF AFCENT A5 for quarterly TSC Assessment Briefs, TSC Flight Plan development, and briefings for senior personnel.
  • Support A5 participation in conferences and meetings, including development of the Middle East Air Symposium and COM 9AF AFCENT AOR travel plans.
  • Coordinate and execute 9AF AFCENT/CC AOR travel, including developing materials and briefings for key leader engagements.
  • Serve as Humanitarian Assistance (HA) project coordinator, working with USCENTCOM, Country Teams, and Air Expeditionary Wings/Groups to plan and execute HA construction projects in the AOR.
  • Research and recommend funding strategies for HA projects.
  • Coordinate with host nation authorities through country teams for project approval.
  • Monitor the contracting process to ensure projects remain on track.
  • Coordinate with 9 AF AFCENT staff to ensure visibility on proposed and approved projects.
  • Review current operations, operational plans, AF instructions, and joint publications to collate data.
  • Provide support for CONUS visits from foreign military personnel, including base escort and transportation as required.

Requirements

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • 1 year of experience in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% (CONUS and OCONUS).
  • Valid U.S. passport.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in a Component-Numbered AF or HHQ staff position, or
  • High School Diploma plus 9 years of experience on a NAF or component command staff or higher-level equivalent.
  • Active DoD Top Secret or TS/SCI security clearance (desired).

The salary range for this position is provided at the top of the posting and varies based on factors such as scope of the role, relevant experience, job-related knowledge, education, key skills, and geographic market considerations.
