About the role
To plan, organize, and deliver value-driven skill development programs to participants in accordance with YMCA goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Leads music and theater classes for ages 1-18, teaching acting, dance, music, and performance skills while building confidence and creativity.
- Requires experience in the performing arts and mentoring young performers.
- Plans, organizes and leads specific activities, routines and/or games for all participants.
- Led with enthusiasm and positive motivation in program.
- Organizes and maintains program records including, but not limited to: attendance records, rosters, etc.
- Manages all equipment.
- Maintains a clean and risk-free environment.
- Communicates effectively and timely with program participants and parents.
- Ensures all children are picked up by a parent.
- Promotes other YMCA programs by handing out brochures, answering questions, or referral to appropriate person.
- Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 18 years of age with high school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 5 years of advanced experience in specialized skill.
- Minimum of 4 years teaching specialized skill.
- Training and qualifications in the specialized instruction area.
- Demonstrate advance knowledge of specialized skill.
- Able to effectively use technology for programmatic needs.
- Obtain and maintain all new hires certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.
- Ability to plan, lead, and participate in classes and activities.
- Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, including leading class, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.
