The Outreach Team, Canvass Field Director

About the role

As a Canvass Field Director, you will lead a team of canvassers in Omaha or Lincoln, Nebraska, to engage with voters, build support for progressive campaigns, and mobilize communities around critical issues. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong organizational skills, a passion for grassroots organizing, and the ability to motivate and manage a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and supervise a team of canvassers to meet daily and weekly goals.
• Develop and implement field plans to maximize voter contact and campaign impact.
• Conduct direct voter contact through door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, and other outreach methods.
• Track and report progress on key metrics, including conversations, sign-ups, and donations.
• Work closely with campaign leadership to adapt strategies based on real-time data and feedback.
• Represent the campaign at local events, coalition meetings, and public forums.
• Maintain accurate records of canvassing activities and voter interactions.
• Ensure compliance with all campaign and legal guidelines.

Requirements

• At least 1–2 years of experience in field organizing, canvassing, or campaign work, preferably in a leadership role.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse communities.
• Proven ability to manage and motivate a team in a high-pressure environment.
• Experience with voter data tools (e.g., VAN, PDI) and basic proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
• Willingness to work long and irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
