The Monson General Store Cashier Part Time

Summary

The Monson General Store has an opening for a year-round, part time position. We are looking for friendly individuals with great personalities that can work quickly - but not get too stressed - in a fast-paced environment. The General Store Cashier is responsible for meeting and greeting customers offering excellent customer service, cashing customers out accurately in an efficient manner, and keeping the Front End clean organized and stocked. Responsibilities

• Cashiering
• Handling money
• Assisting customers in person and over the phone
• Packaging produce and bulk snack inventory
• Basic cleaning tasks such as taking trash out, sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down counters
• Use of knives, box cutters and carts

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and phone etiquette
• Basic knowledge of Pineland Farms and departments
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Ability to deal with problems in standardized situations

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Work Environment

• Standing/walking during entirety of shift, occasionally sitting down
• Indoor setting with occasionally outdoor exposure

Schedule

• Part-time position (less than 30 hours/week)
• Closing shifts (working until 7:00pm)
• 1 weekend day of availability (Saturday or Sunday)
