The Hershel "Woody" Williams VA Medical Center located in Huntington, WV provides you with outstanding health care, trains America's future health care providers, and conducts important medical research. Health care services are provided at 6 locations, serving southwestern West Virginia, southeastern Ohio, and eastern Kentucky. Facilities include our Hershel "Woody" Williams VA Medical Center in Huntington, and four community-based outpatient clinics in Lenore, W.Va., South Charleston, WV; Gallipolis, OH; and Prestonsburg, KY. We also provide a Community Resource and Referral Center in Huntington, WV. The VA Medical Center is one of the leading health care systems serving Veterans in the VA Capitol Health Care Network. We're an innovative care center within the Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN 5), which includes medical centers and clinics in Maryland, Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, evaluate, diagnose, and initially treat patients in the Emergency Department with any symptom, illness or condition.
  • Stabilize patients with major illnesses or injuries and assess all patient needs.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development activities.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Current, unrestricted medical license from any US state or territory.
  • Completion of an approved residency program in Emergency Medicine.
  • Board certification in Emergency Medicine.

Qualifications

  • Experience in emergency medicine preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of VA policies and procedures.

Skills

  • Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR).

  • Performance Pay: Up to 15k annually.

Pay

Salary range: $300,000 to $350,000.

Schedule

Shifts: 12-hour shifts, 7 days a week.
