Job Summary
Responsible and accountable for the overall operation, maintenance, and appearance of all swimming pools in accordance with Baldwin County Health Department regulations and Spectrum Resorts’ standards. This is a full-time overnight shift position.Job Requirements
- Maintain proper water chemistry through routine testing, accurate interpretation of results, and precise chemical adjustments.
- Add and adjust pool chemicals including chlorine, pH balancers, alkalinity increasers/decreasers, calcium hardness adjusters, and other treatment chemicals as required to maintain compliance with health department standards.
- Calibrate, monitor, and adjust automatic chemical controllers and feeders to ensure consistent water quality.
- Test water quality using approved reagent test kits and digital testing equipment; accurately interpret results to determine necessary corrective actions.
- Identify and respond promptly to imbalanced water conditions to prevent safety hazards and equipment damage.
- Maintain accurate daily operation and chemical treatment records in accordance with Baldwin County Health Department requirements.
- Clean and inspect pools daily, including vacuuming, skimming debris, brushing pool walls, and ensuring overall cleanliness and safety of the pool area.
- Monitor filtration and circulation systems to ensure proper operation.
- Interact with guests in a friendly, professional, and hospitable manner.
- Respond to minor maintenance-related guest needs and requests in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Identify and report any maintenance or safety issues observed during routine duties to leadership in a timely manner.
- Review and follow Chemical Safety Data Sheets (SDS), including proper handling, storage, and required use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain awareness of safety equipment locations, including eye wash stations.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED required.
- Basic knowledge of pool chemistry and mechanical systems preferred.
Physical Demands
- Regularly stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Frequent use of hands and arms to handle, feel, grasp, and reach.
- Must often lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb and safely stand on a ladder is required as needed.
- Work in environments with chemical odors, dust, and moderate noise levels.
- Routine working in hot and cold temperatures, as well as in inclement weather conditions.
- Close vision and the ability to adjust focus required.
