Thanksgiving Celebration Volunteers Needed – Brooklyn
About the role
CUCS works in all five boroughs of New York City to support individuals and families through outreach programs, shelters and transitional programs, drop-in centers, and permanent supportive housing. Their teams assist homeless, formerly homeless, and low‑income individuals and families to connect with benefits, receive primary medical and mental healthcare from Janian Medical Care, and improve services by providing professional training to partner nonprofits through the Training Institute. This year, CUCS is hosting the full Thanksgiving celebration, including a catered Thanksgiving meal, drinks, decorations, and two resident raffles. Volunteers will provide much‑appreciated extra hands throughout the event, helping staff set up and decorate the space, serve dinner and drinks to residents, and assist with cleanup. This is a great volunteer opportunity for a small group of 2‑4 people who would like to help create a warm and welcoming Thanksgiving celebration for residents of a CUCS supportive housing program in Brooklyn.
Responsibilities
- Help staff set up and decorate the event space
- Serve dinner and drinks to residents
- Assist with cleanup after the meal
Schedule
The celebration will have two seatings: 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. and 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. Volunteers will be needed throughout the event to support setup, service, and cleanup.
