About the Role

Sabino Electric, part of BCES Global, is seeking a Testing & Commissioning Supervisor to lead field-testing operations across Arizona. This hands-on leadership role requires an experienced electrical testing professional to manage projects, make technical decisions, and ensure safe and accurate work on diverse job sites.

Responsibilities

  • Lead de-energized maintenance and acceptance testing projects from job walk to completion.
  • Serve as the technical leader and on-site decision-maker for testing crews.
  • Coordinate daily work across Phoenix and Tucson-area technicians.
  • Conduct job walks and help develop accurate project scopes.
  • Troubleshoot unfamiliar equipment, configurations, and field conditions.
  • Act as an escalation point for technicians with complex issues.
  • Review Method of Procedures (MOPs), test sheets, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure work complies with NETA ATS-2025 and NFPA 70E standards.
  • Train and mentor technicians on testing procedures, safety, and documentation.
  • Lead by example in safety practices, including LOTO and PPE.
  • Support incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Ensure testing work meets Sabino's quality standards before client delivery.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of electrical testing experience, with strong de-energized maintenance testing expertise.
  • Strong working knowledge of switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, protective relays, and industrial/commercial power distribution systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and manufacturer test data.
  • Experience preparing or reviewing technical procedures and test documentation (MOPs, test sheets, FSRs).
  • Ability to assess unfamiliar equipment and field conditions independently.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Arizona.

Qualifications

  • NETA Level II or NICET III or higher (preferred).
  • Substation testing experience (preferred).
  • Previous lead or supervisory experience (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Sage accounting/job costing systems (preferred).
