Testing Center Specialist (PT)
About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Admissions, Assessment, and Credit for Prior Learning, the Testing Center Specialist will provide professional, consistent, and secure testing services to Rowan-Cabarrus Community College students, as well as to individuals in the community. The Testing Center Specialist must be able to work in collaboration with faculty, staff, administration, and vendors to provide efficient services. The position is part-time, approximately 25 hours per week, with varied hours, including morning, afternoon, evening, and rotating Saturday shifts. Primarily located at the North Campus, but must be willing to travel to other campus locations when needed.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in a related field and three (3) years of experience in teaching, training, counseling, or testing
- Equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform essential duties
Preferred Qualifications
- Pearson VUE certification
- Experience with administration of placement testing
- Experience with online appointment scheduling

Responsibilities
- Administer, score, and record results of testing instruments (entrance, placement, career assessments, etc.)
- Provide customer service: assist with testing sign-up, accommodation arrangements, monitor testing rooms, etc.
- Perform administrative support: update files/databases, schedule appointments, respond to inquiries, answer phones
- Prepare records and reports related to student testing activities
- Perform other related duties as needed
