About the role

As Product Design Lead you will head the design function within Envato’s Content Team, managing a team of three to four designers focused on research, UX, and visual design. The Content Team works closely with a large, global community of contributors (“Authors”) who license their creative digital assets on Envato’s platform. Reporting to the Chief Content Officer, you will be a senior leader among a community of designers and an active member of the Content leadership team. You will serve as the voice for internal system users and Authors, championing a user‑centred approach that balances the needs of internal users, external contributors, and business goals. The role collaborates with technology, operational, and commercial stakeholders across the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Provide design leadership and direction across multiple products and projects within the Content Team.
• Inspire the design team to pursue the vision and help them understand how products and projects interconnect to create a coherent, consistent, and delightful experience.
• Set clear objectives, empower the team, and hold them accountable for results.
• Align the end‑to‑end journey by coordinating across multiple teams and projects to ensure a consistent user experience.
• Coach the team in techniques for problem discovery, idea exploration, rapid prototyping, and validation.
• Foster a collaborative, safe environment for idea generation and feedback.
• Lead by example through facilitating workshops and conducting one‑on‑one interviews with stakeholders.
