Test Technician II

About the role

At Dover Fueling Solutions (DFS), you will work on innovative fueling and convenience‑retail products in a team‑based manufacturing environment. The Test Operator II performs a wide variety of semi‑repetitive or unique precision test and assembly operations, following production drawings or detailed written instructions. DFS is part of Dover Corporation and offers global exposure across facilities in the United States, Brazil, China, India, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.

Responsibilities

• Perform final acceptance testing and in‑process testing of chargers, sub‑components, assemblies, and systems.
• Recognize and utilize all safety hazard controls; use and maintain prescribed personal protective equipment.
• Follow standard operating procedures, bills of materials, manufacturing information, and work instructions.
• Assist engineers with troubleshooting test failures, determining root cause, and implementing corrective actions.
• Test a variety of systems, including medium to high voltage systems.
• Set up test equipment (cabling, clamping, fixturing, instrumentation, piping, etc.) and teardown test pieces.
• Perform quality‑control visual inspections and functional operations of material and product before and after assembly.
• Troubleshoot and understand test failures; maintain production test equipment, including minor repairs and preventative maintenance on a limited basis.
• Activate electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical power to apply successive steps in the test cycle.
• Ensure finished products meet quality standards and maintain logs on device inspection items.
• Verify materials against drawings and/or bills of materials.
• Produce all product in a timely manner and test/diagnose units from other zones as needed.
• Promote zone safety hazard avoidance and proper PPE usage according to training.
• Engage peers in housekeeping responsibilities (6S) consistent with manufacturing initiatives.
• Drive quality and continuous‑improvement initiatives related to zone tasks.

Requirements & Qualifications

• OSHA 11 Certification is a plus.
• Experience maintaining industrial three‑phase power systems.
• Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent in Electrical Technology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and 4‑5 years of experience.
• Ability to read engineering drawings (mandatory).
• Experience working with high‑voltage and high‑current power (240 V to 480 V; 30 A to 100 A).
• High level of accuracy and keen attention to detail.
• Willingness to stand for a minimum of 10 hours per day and lift up to 40 lb unassisted.
• Proficiency with hand and torque‑driven tools.
• Intermediate PC skills; ability to navigate company training and communication programs.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Collaborative, fast‑paced team player with a customer‑focused mindset (internal and external).
• Demonstrated ability to grasp and execute process‑related activities.
• Read and interpret drawings or standard work instructions.
• Ability to handle additional PPE required for test‑stand activities.
• At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• At least 5 years of experience in wiring assembly.
• At least 5 years of experience in troubleshooting products.
• At least 5 years of experience in testing large industrial electric components or machines.
