Test Technician II
This is an 11-month contract with a potential for extension in Minneapolis, MN. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.
About the role
We are currently looking for a contract Test Technician to join the Therapy Delivery Systems Test Development team in Rice Creek, Minnesota. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated technician to work on-site collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of engineers and technicians serving Neuromodulation and Pelvic Health Gastric Therapies. This position is in the Neuroscience Portfolio group working to execute test plans and other laboratory work in support of mechanical and electrical testing of leads, catheters, and other therapy delivery products for Deep Brain Stimulation, Spinal Cord Stimulation, Sacral Neural Stimulation, and Targeted Drug Delivery.
Responsibilities
- Support project testing activities conducting mechanical, electrical and/or fatigue tests to ensure product conformance to specifications
- Accurately report test data in prescribed format and clearly communicate test results to engineering team
- Support validation activities by executing test method validation, equipment qualification and equipment software validation studies in collaboration with test engineers
- Assist in the development and documentation of test methods in collaboration with test engineers
- Fabricate provided designs or select suitable equipment and tooling/fixtures for desired test methods
- Identify and evaluate improvement opportunities that are inherent in the test process or lab operations and execute their implementation
- Manage and maintain lab equipment which includes calibration and preventative maintenance
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 2 years of technician experience
- Vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience
Skills
- 2-year Associate Science Degree (nice to have)
- Experience in laboratory and test setting (nice to have)
- Workable knowledge of scientific and/or laboratory techniques
- Good verbal and written English skills
- Good troubleshooting skills
- Experience with building prototype mechanical fixtures
- Solid mechanical and/or electrical technical skills
- Ability to work under limited supervision and follow general direction for work
- Ability to build and test mechanical components, electrical circuits, and assemblies
- Ability to perform tests requiring some judgment in determining work methods and interpreting test results
- Ability to document clear and accurate test results
- Attention to detail
- Familiarity with Instron or MTS test machines (nice to have)
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Instron Bluehill or MTS/TestWorks (nice to have)
- Experience with Microscope and X-Ray equipment (nice to have)
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others
- Demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently
Pay
$20.00 - $30.00/hr (W2 contract)
