The Test Technician II will provide direct support to Doble customers and clients worldwide, performing testing, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of Doble test equipment. This role requires a highly organized, self-directed individual with strong electronic technician skills and experience. The position involves interaction with all levels of management, customers, and employees globally, necessitating excellent communication, technical, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Test and calibrate new production Doble test equipment.
  • Calibrate, upgrade, test, and repair both customer-owned and Doble-leased test equipment.
  • Record all test data and failure information in the production database.
  • Assist customers with technical telephone support, including remote troubleshooting of systems in the field.
  • Provide full in-house repair, test, hardware and software upgrades, and calibration services on Doble test equipment.
  • Fulfill customer sales orders as required.
  • Make recommendations to improve quality or production test methods and processes.
  • Use analog and digital troubleshooting techniques and equipment to diagnose issues to the board or sub-assembly level.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or Electronic Technician Certificate.
  • Experience with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DVMs, and frequency counters.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to proactively communicate status and issues to internal and external customers.
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
  • Must thrive in a deadline-driven, fast-paced team environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Customer Service Technician I or equivalent.
  • Proven system test-level troubleshooting and repair experience with power industry test equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Clear written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with test, upgrades, troubleshooting, and repair of Doble test equipment.
  • Experience with nuclear industry calibration requirements for test equipment.
  • Experience with power industry high-voltage test equipment.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, sitting, computer use, reading, writing, typing, and use of copy machines and telephones.
  • Must be capable of lifting 30 pounds; assistance required for lifting 50 or more pounds.

Pay

Hourly pay range: Minimum $26.90 - Midpoint $33.62. Actual base salary will be determined based on work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, and relevant education or training experience.
