About the role

Leidos Defense Systems Integration and Test Team is seeking a Test & Integration Engineer. We are a diverse team that works to implement unique solutions for complex problems in the defense sector, including kinetic and directed energy defensive and offensive platforms, RADAR, and other surveillance and sensor technologies. Our team works across multiple business sectors, with industry partners, and directly with the customer. We strive to have a variety of skillsets personally and across the team to meet the needs of our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the customer and contractors to execute program requirements.
  • Execute test plans for development, qualification, and acceptance phases of hardware projects.
  • Create, modify, and use Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) test platforms to satisfy testing requirements.
  • Complete requirements verification and validation documentation and reports.
  • Perform test data analysis via Wireshark and/or software debug tools.
  • Brief both internal and external parties on test results and data.
  • Debug software and/or hardware with various tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited university with 8+ years of prior relevant experience or an MS with 6+ years.
  • Knowledge of and experience with defense or commercial test engineering practices and processes.
  • Experience developing and executing hardware or software test plans and procedures.
  • Direct, hands-on experience with hardware, software, or system integration, troubleshooting, and testing.
  • Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
  • US Citizenship is required and active secret clearance.
  • The position may require working outside in all weather conditions and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Minimal travel for test events (approximately 4 weeks a year).

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with test planning and execution.
  • Experience with RADAR / RF systems.
  • Working knowledge and operation of electronic test equipment (e.g., oscilloscope, voltmeter, signal analyzer/generator).
  • Working knowledge of software languages Python, C, C++, C# and/or firmware languages for Xilinx or Altera devices.
  • Experience with Linux, Matlab, Labview, and Wireshark.
  • Experience preparing and presenting briefings and/or demonstrations to customers and management.
  • Planning and executing demonstration tests at US Government test ranges/facilities.

Pay

Pay Range: $107,900.00 - $195,050.00. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
