Duties

  • Create and execute fit-for-purpose processes to ensure installation and functionality of every piece of equipment and instrumentation for all systems and sub-systems
  • Responsible for various engineering or technical assignments
  • Perform instrument calibration and testing and is responsible for accuracy
  • Perform testing, troubleshooting and repair of electrical controls, panels, instrumentation, power distribution systems, and control system networks
  • Perform inspection and verification activities associated with the Company's work packages
  • Expert understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and relay ladder logic
  • Comply with and enforce company safety, environmental, governmental policies, and regulations as they apply
  • Provide hands-on support for commissioning/start-up activities
  • Perform such other related duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • Education: Associate's degree in Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience: 36 months of experience working as a Test Engineer or related occupation
  • Must possess a valid driver's license (or be eligible to obtain one within 30 days of the date of hire)
  • Must have an acceptable driving record
  • Demonstrably excellent working knowledge of: (a) National Electrical Code ("NEC"); (b) International Society of Automation ("ISA"); (c) National Fire Protection Association ("NFPA"); (d) Application Programming Interface ("API"); (e) Underwriters Laboratories ("UL"); (f) Analog instrumentation loops; (g) PLC ladder logic, digital and sequential logic programming methods, and process related closed-loop control system; and (h) electrical and instrumentation (calibration, testing, verification, etc.)
  • Demonstrably excellent skills in: (a) communication; (b) technical writing; (c) daily reporting; and (d) presentations
  • Demonstrable ability to: (a) calibrate various instruments; (b) read and understand electrical schematics, P&ID, and other drawings; (c) follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the function of the job under minimal supervision; and (d) commission and start-up an industrial plant
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety
