Required Skills
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- MA/MS from an accredited college or university in engineering with 5 to 6 years in test engineering supporting DOD programs.
- 1 academic year at an accredited college or university in an accredited preferred degree related post-secondary program for 1 year of experience.
- 7 additional years of experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
- Environmental testing and environmental test documentation preparation/tailoring.
- Operation, application, characteristics, and requirements of environmental (both climatic and dynamic) test machines used for testing of military equipment and systems.
- Types (digital and analog) of measurement, recording, analysis, and control instrumentation required and used during environmental testing and obtaining of field data.
- MIL-STD-810 and the tailoring concept of environmental testing as it pertains to military systems.
- NDI methods including fluorescent penetrant, magnetic particles, ultrasonic, eddy current, x-ray and computer topography methods and disciplines, fractures mechanics, probability of detection and confidence levels of inspections is required.
