About the role
The Test Engineer is responsible for all aspects of product, material and system validation for a wide range of vibration isolation and seismic/noise control products. This position independently performs and coordinates testing in-house and at select supplier partners, supports seismic testing, manages projects with labs and customers, secures contractors, and executes.
Responsibilities
- Perform all testing at internal and external labs
- Use independent discretion and judgment to identify, plan for, and ensure proper tools and equipment are in place for timely testing
- Coordinate and actively manage external shake testing of nonstructural building components
- Plan for and handle all advance test preparation and manage the testing process
- Perform physical tests on materials, products, and customer-supplied equipment
- Prepare mechanical test fixtures, including non-precision machining to alter test apparatus
- Perform material acceptance and diagnostic tests
- Administer and develop a wide range of testing and development protocols
- Perform calibration tests and measurements on equipment
- Support Quality as required
- Manage customer expectations
- Proactively communicate with internal teams, labs, external teams, and customers regarding project status
- Support writing the project test plan per the project engineer’s analysis and scope
- Create clear and concise documents as required by the project test plan
- Collect test data to prepare and issue well-written, timely, comprehensive, and professional report documents summarizing and validating test results
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent (4–6 years of progressive mechanical engineering work)
- Hands-on experience with laboratory machinery and data collection systems (preferred)
- Experience with elastomers, metals, manufacturing, or quality assurance
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel formulas) and Microsoft Project
- Strong project management, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Confident communicator with strong follow-through
Work Environment
- Laboratory setting with occasional extended hours
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate lab equipment and mechanical tools
- Travel required (25–50%), including possible international travel

Pay
$70,000 to $85,000 yearly
