About the role

Provide an experienced environmental test engineer supporting Ford’s Sunrise development team and vehicle electronics validation. The immediate focus is executing established environmental testing, primarily thermal chamber testing, with rain chambers and vibration tables also used, and producing test-completion reports in Excel and Minitab. Ford is market-testing an ongoing purchased-services engagement with an incumbent provider; the stated deliverable is a qualified resource rather than a newly defined 30/60/90-day project. Manager responses narrow the broader reliability-focused description: working knowledge of FMEA/RCCA is expected, PCB expertise is a plus, and design-review participation is not expected. Responsibilities

• Set up, run, and monitor environmental tests on electronic modules, with most testing centered on thermal chambers.
• Support rain-chamber and vibration-table testing and related environmental validation procedures.
• Collect test data, document results, and prepare test-completion reports using Excel and Minitab.
• Handle PCB assemblies safely and perform visual checks following tests.

Requirements

• Senior-level target of 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on environmental testing experience, particularly thermal chamber operation; relevant exposure to rain chambers and vibration tables.
• Electronics/hardware validation background and safe handling of PCB assemblies.
• Test-data collection, basic analysis, and clear test-completion reporting using Excel and Minitab.
• Working understanding of DFMEA, PFMEA, and RCCA rather than confirmed ownership of these processes.
