Test Engineer 1

About the role

Test software following a formal testing method using various telephony and networking hardware spanning multiple hardware platforms. Perform baseline, integration, system, and regression level testing in support of research and development efforts. Analyze large log data sets and software test data while documenting results in a clear and concise manner.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test scripts and analyze results while performing system testing of complex systems
• Develop and build multiple lab environments using various telephony and networking hardware following formal testing methods
• Integrate new and old technologies into existing network configurations and test beds
• Set priorities and rearrange schedules to address unexpected issues; perform baseline, unit/integration, component, and regression level testing in support of research and development efforts
• Create scenarios that support the creation of test cases and procedures; manage discrepancy reports identified during testing

Requirements

• Two (2) or more years of experience as a test engineer developing/executing test scripts and analyzing results while performing system testing of complex systems
• Strong Python experience
• Experience using and developing scripts in Python and creating regular expressions for searching data sets
• Bachelor's degree in Math, Science, Engineering, Statistics, Engineering Management, or related discipline (or four additional years of related experience may be substituted for Bachelor's degree)

Qualifications

• Experience creating scenarios that support the creation of test cases and procedures; and the ability to manage discrepancy reports identified during testing
• Familiarity with Jenkins or other Continuous Integration Frameworks (nice to have)
• Familiarity with PyTest automation frameworks (nice to have)
• Experience generating Test Plans and RVTMs (nice to have)
• Experience developing and building multiple lab environments (nice to have)
• Familiarity with SPLUNK (nice to have)
• Familiarity with working in a Linux environment (nice to have)
• Familiarity with working in an Agile environment (nice to have)
