About the role

At Capgemini Engineering, we are looking for a hands‑on Test Architect to own the end‑to‑end test strategy for an aircraft‑wide, edge‑compute application hosting platform spanning hardware, embedded software, connectivity, AI‑driven features, and a multi‑tenant application ecosystem. The role blends strategic ownership (defining and evolving the detailed test strategy), technical leadership (guiding and mentoring the test team), and hands‑on execution (test plan execution and building automation frameworks/scripts). The ideal candidate is equally comfortable authoring a test architecture document and writing automation code.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the overall test strategy, architecture, and governance across functional, integration, system, performance, security, connectivity, and CI/CD testing.
  • Define test approaches, coverage models, entry/exit criteria, and release quality gates for all platform and application layers.
  • Design and manage test environments and lab infrastructure, including physical labs, virtual/simulated environments, and network emulation setups.
  • Lead and mentor a cross‑functional QA/testing team, providing technical guidance, best practices, and quality assurance oversight.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for releases and sprints, ensuring effective coverage across end‑to‑end testing activities.
  • Monitor test execution, defect trends, risk assessments, and release readiness, driving root‑cause analysis and regression impact evaluation.
  • Design, build, and maintain test automation frameworks and scripts, integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and expanding automation coverage.
  • Own Jira/Xray traceability and test reporting, ensuring requirement‑to‑test mapping, defect tracking, audit readiness, and certification‑supporting test evidence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 8+ years in software/systems testing, with at least 2–3 years in a test architect, lead, or principal test engineer capacity.

Skills

  • Proven experience defining test strategy for a complex, multi‑component or platform‑level system (not just single‑application testing).
  • Strong hands‑on experience building test automation frameworks (not just using existing ones) — e.g., API‑level automation, UI automation, performance/load testing tools.
  • Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests as pipeline gates.

Benefits

  • Paid time off based on employee grade
