Test and Validation Engineer - HVAC
About the role
Your Contribution As a Test and Validation Engineer – HVAC reporting to the Head of AC Testing – NA, you will provide support for equipment and facilities used in the validation testing of automotive HVAC and engine cooling components. Requires multidisciplinary electrical and mechanical engineering background supporting industrial test equipment, process control, and instrumentation. Ensures data quality and adherence to validation specifications.
Responsibilities
- Supports installation and support of instrumentation and data acquisition systems
- Supports process control equipment including PLCs and controllers
- Sizes control valves, heat exchangers, and pumps
- Diagnoses refrigeration systems
- Engineers test equipment and facility improvements
- Supports technicians and troubleshoots test issues
- Defines project specifications and prepares cost estimates
- Performs commissioning tests
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited 4-year college or university
- 1-10 years of experience
- Knowledge of instrumentation, controls, electrical systems
- Knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs
- AC/thermodynamics familiarity
- Knowledge of MSA, OSHA, NFPA standards
- Strong English communication skills
- Ability to perform basic math concepts
