About the role
Great Plains Manufacturing is seeking a Test & Validation Engineer to join the Ag Research and Development Team in Assaria, KS. This is an on-site position.
Schedule
Typically works Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the development of new and creative test and validation methods to rapidly optimize the launch of new products while maintaining safety, quality, durability, and reliability.
- Attend and contribute to design review meetings.
- Perform lab tests, analyze test data, and provide engineering reports on prototype machines and components.
- Recognize and document problems in issue reports.
- Oversee lab tests to ensure alignment with test requests, internal and external test standards, and customer application requirements.
- Coordinate and oversee accurate test setup and data collection with the Shop Foreman and Technicians.
- Analyze and interpret test data using proper engineering practices and principles; prepare and present technical reports for engineering and management personnel.
- Use computer software and hardware to conduct tests on construction machinery and equipment according to industry standards.
- Adhere to procedures, test methods, validation master plans, and other validation and test-related documentation.
- Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment.
- Other duties as assigned that may require additional qualifications, physical demands, or work environment adjustments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to safely troubleshoot and diagnose problems.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic and electrical control systems.
- Knowledge of modern test equipment, methods of test, data collection, and data analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with various teams, gather key inputs, and collaborate with diverse opinions and competing priorities.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, communicate task status, oversee others' work, and seek assistance when necessary.
- Availability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship (not eligible for visa sponsorship, including H-1B or candidates requiring sponsorship after OPT).
Preferred Skills
- Strong experience with data acquisition systems and control system programming.
- 3D modeling experience.
- Strong data analysis experience and knowledge.
