Role Overview

The Test / Software Engineer will focus on software development and testing of cryptographic products. This role involves installation, integration, and system-level testing of hardware/software to ensure compliance with design requirements and security standards. You will also perform in-depth security verification testing of cryptographic systems and support the development of reliable, high-assurance engineering solutions. The role requires adaptability, curiosity, and a willingness to both mentor others and learn new technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, integrate, and test operational hardware/software systems
  • Validate systems against design specifications, requirements, and standards
  • Develop and execute test cases using Python
  • Debug software and resolve defects in collaboration with engineering teams
  • Analyze system requirements and translate them into test plans
  • Write and maintain test procedures and documentation
  • Support system installation and monitor operational performance
  • Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to define test strategies
  • Recommend improvements to documentation, processes, and system design
  • Modify software to fix issues, adapt to new hardware, or improve performance

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Full-Scope Polygraph
  • Strong proficiency in Python
  • Strong proficiency in C programming
  • Hands-on experience in testing and debugging complex systems
  • Ability to design test cases from system requirements
  • Experience working in hardware-software integrated environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work closely with cross-functional engineering teams

Preferred / Highly Desirable Experience

  • Embedded software development experience
  • FPGA exposure or experience
  • Understanding of cryptographic systems, protocols, and secure computing environments

Education & Experience

Mid-Level: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or 4+ years of relevant experience (with additional experience substituting for degree).

Senior-Level: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or 10+ years of relevant experience (with additional experience substituting for degree).
