TES Lab Assistant
Responsibilities
- Performs mouse colony management
- Performs mouse genotyping on various transgenic strains
- Harvests mouse brain tissue and perform histological processing and analysis
- Records and analyzes data from behavioral experiments with mice, such as analyzing sleep/wake states based on EEG data
- Maintains lab routines and ordering supplies
- Prepares data and graphs for presentation
- Assists in the development of research proposals, plans and protocols
- Conducts routine or fundamental experiments, investigations and/or studies related to programs and projects in pursuit of new knowledge, techniques and concepts
- May instruct students and/or supervise others’ research in area of expertise
Qualifications
- Basic familiarity in laboratory functions
- Bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences or a related field
