Stephenson Equipment, Inc (SEI) is an industry leader in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and New York, providing sales, rentals, parts, and service for construction equipment, cranes, paving, road building, and road maintenance equipment. This role is based at our Manassas, VA location and will serve the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) region.
Responsibilities
- Successfully sell and rent equipment in the assigned territory while meeting sales and rental goals/targets.
- Travel within the assigned territory to visit customers at their locations and demonstrate equipment.
- Focus sales efforts on potential volume accounts and existing customers.
- Service existing accounts, obtain orders, submit orders, and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work.
- Collaborate with Sales Management, OEM specialists, and the support team within SEI.
- Use the CRM system to record activity, opportunities, and update customer contact information.
- Forecast sales and provide historical data by maintaining records on sales and locations.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and industry data to identify new product opportunities and shifting pricing strategies.
- Run sales reports on a weekly and monthly basis to keep management informed on progress.
- Create sales presentations using current industry literature and product information.
- Update and expand the existing sales database.
- Attend trade shows and other industry events.
- Perform various administrative duties and other assigned tasks.
Requirements
- Higher education in a technical field or extensive work experience in a technical field.
- One to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of outside sales experience.
- Machine technical knowledge is a plus.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
- Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Work environment varies from office to field, with significant time spent traveling to client locations.
- Field environment may include hands-on operation of equipment.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
