About the Role

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the Territory Sales Representative serves as a key link between Empire Auto Parts and its account base of collision repair shops in the assigned region. The primary objective is to identify and sell to prospective customers who can benefit from Empire's unique value proposition, and to drive profitable and recurring revenue growth through exceptional service to existing customers.

Responsibilities

  • Revenue Achievement: Meet or exceed revenue objectives for the assigned territory/account base. Collaborate with peers to achieve regional revenue goals.
  • Sales Generation: Penetrate assigned accounts using a structured contact strategy (phone, email, and face-to-face). Identify new opportunities through Internet research, customer referrals, and market visits.
  • Customer Retention: Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction to retain sold customers. Monitor order activity and proactively address declines or irregularities. Resolve issues promptly to prevent churn.
  • Product and Service Delivery: Ensure customers receive products and services on time. Collaborate with internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve delivery or service issues. Stay current on Empire’s corporate and operational information (locations, products, delivery schedules).
  • Customer Success: Maintain an NPS score greater than 60 for assigned accounts. Keep return rates at 12% or less. Collect and act on customer feedback to improve products and services. Respond to Voice of Customer surveys.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Document all customer interactions promptly, accurately, and thoroughly in Empire’s ERP system. Provide regular reports on sales performance, forecasts, and market conditions.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with internal teams to share best practices and support a unified customer service approach. Communicate effectively to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Market Intelligence: Gather and report market and competitive information to help adjust strategies and offerings. Stay informed about industry trends and customer needs to provide relevant solutions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Strong work ethic, commitment, and proactive mindset.
  • Knowledge of and interest in automobiles, including parts and functionality (desired).
  • Sales experience with smaller/startup companies (preferred).
  • Multilingual skills (desired).

Physical Requirements

  • Physical Endurance: Extensive travel may be required, covering large territories and visiting collision repair shops, auto body workshops, and potential clients. Long hours on the road may be necessary.
  • Handling and Moving Parts: May need to lift, carry, and demonstrate auto parts (e.g., bumpers, fenders, hoods) during presentations or trade shows.
  • Work Environment: May encounter noisy, dusty, or chemically exposed environments in collision repair shops or workshops.
  • Driving and Navigation: Must navigate territories safely, requiring good driving skills, a valid driver’s license, and familiarity with navigation tools.
