Territory Sales Manager - West Virginia
Join the Scag/Metalcraft team as a Territory Sales Manager and put your drive to work! We’re seeking motivated sales professionals to help expand and strengthen our brands in Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. Applicants must live in the territory or be willing to relocate.
About the Role
We are seeking results-driven self-starters interested in a career in field sales. The ideal candidate focuses on developing relationships and possesses the intelligence, enthusiasm, and work ethic to build new connections and strengthen existing ones with outdoor power equipment dealers. Territory Sales Managers will leverage the SCAG brand to meet objectives, including annual sales goals, product sales goals, new dealer recruitment, dealer development, and upgrading the SCAG dealer network.
In this role, you will oversee sales operations and dealer relationships within a designated territory, drive business development, and ensure exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have strong sales management skills and a proven track record in outside and technical sales.
Responsibilities
To Company
- Understand all selling and marketing programs and develop a plan to meet annual goals and objectives.
- Communicate the uniqueness and value of our product lines to rental dealers.
- Spend the majority of your time making on-site calls to be an active part of customers’ businesses.
- Direct dealers to devote maximum effort and resources to our products.
- Know your competition (pricing, practices, and products).
- Perform product demonstrations as needed.
To Dealer
- Proactively help dealers manage, control, and resolve problems (sales, operational, business finance).
- Train dealers on the features and benefits of Bluebird, Scag, and Versatran products.
- Monitor rental locations’ inventory and suggest actions (e.g., maintain proper inventory, emphasize popular merchandise).
- Represent your rental dealers to the company and vice versa.
Requirements
- 2+ years of external sales experience—preferably in outdoor power equipment rental, wholesale, or retail.
- High school degree (required).
- Great communication and follow-through skills.
- Mid to high proficiency with Microsoft-based programs and applications (Excel, Word, others).
- Physical ability to use and operate all forms of outdoor power equipment.
- Ability and willingness to work non-standard hours to meet customer needs.
- Ability to travel the territory effectively—most travel will be by pickup truck.
- Must live in or be willing to relocate to the assigned Bluebird, Scag, and Versatran territory.
- Clean driving record and valid driver’s license (required).
- Willingness to travel (70% on the road / 30% home office).
