Territory Sales Manager - Richmond, VA

About the role
Würth Wood Group is seeking an experienced Territory Sales Manager for the Richmond, VA region. The home office and nearest distribution facility is located at 1701 Rhoadmiller St, Richmond, VA 23220. The service area covers a one-hour radius of the Richmond branch. You will inherit an active book of business with no internal competition or territorial overlap. The role involves 25% hunting for new business and 75% account maintenance, focusing on high-end residential custom cabinet shops, kitchen & bath design companies, and millwork fabricators.
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow current customer accounts.
- Increase sales and expand your accounts within the territory.
- Treat your territory as your own business, delivering quality service and reliability.
- Identify top solutions for both the company and customers.
- Work independently to grow your market.
Requirements
- Two (2) years of demonstrated success in outside sales, preferably in woodworking or industrial/distribution.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
Preferred Product Experience
Experience selling any of the following is highly desirable:
- Wood products (lumber, plywood/sheet goods).
- Cabinetry and accessories (hinges, drawer slides, handles).
- Paint, stain, or lacquer products.
- Laminate products.
- Fasteners, hand & power tools, and other woodworking/millwork-related products.

Schedule
- 5 days per week on the road.
- Occasional “callout days” in the office as needed.

Pay
- Commission structure: 3% of Gross Margin after a 6-month guarantee at $1,500.00/month.
- Estimated first-year gross pretax earnings (base + commission):
- $80,000 – Good first year.
- $85,000 – Great first year.
- Automotive allowance via the "MOTUS" app:
- Tax-free fixed and variable rate reimbursement for vehicle and fuel costs.
- Fixed rate covers vehicle ownership costs (insurance, licensure, taxes, depreciation).
- Variable rate reflects actual driving costs (fuel, oil, maintenance, tires).
- $45,000 base salary + commission.
- Automotive allowance + mileage reimbursement: $525 per month + $0.19 per mile.
