Mission

The Sales Engineer (Industrial Refrigeration) is responsible for developing and growing sales opportunities across industrial refrigeration and process cooling markets. This role combines technical expertise with business development to identify customer needs, provide engineered solutions, and support customers throughout the sales cycle. The ideal candidate will have experience with industrial refrigeration systems, heat transfer equipment, evaporative cooling, ammonia systems, CO₂ systems, or related industrial cooling applications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new business opportunities within industrial refrigeration, cold storage, food processing, manufacturing, and process cooling markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with consulting engineers, contractors, OEMs, end users, and refrigeration system integrators.
  • Identify customer requirements and recommend appropriate cooling and heat exchange solutions.
  • Prepare technical proposals, quotations, and project documentation.
  • Work closely with Application Engineering and Product Management teams to develop customized solutions.
  • Conduct product presentations, technical training sessions, and customer visits.
  • Support project specification activities and assist customers with equipment selection.
  • Maintain and grow a healthy sales pipeline through proactive prospecting and account management.
  • Utilize CRM tools to track opportunities, customer interactions, and sales forecasts.
  • Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and customer events.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and emerging technologies within industrial refrigeration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, or related field; equivalent industry experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in technical sales, application engineering, refrigeration, HVAC, or industrial cooling systems.
  • Understanding of refrigeration principles, heat transfer, and cooling system applications.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% throughout North America.

Preferred

  • Experience with ammonia (NH₃), CO₂, glycol, or industrial refrigeration systems.
  • Experience selling evaporators, condensers, gas coolers, dry coolers, unit coolers, or heat exchangers.
  • Familiarity with food processing, cold storage, distribution centers, or industrial manufacturing facilities.
  • Knowledge of IIAR, ASHRAE, and refrigeration industry standards.
  • Experience working with contractors, consulting engineers, and refrigeration system designers.
