About the role
The Territory Manager, Sales is responsible for the on-label promotion and execution of sales strategies for approved Esperion products to targeted customers within the Sarasota, FL geographic area. As a member of the Company’s field sales force, this role handles all aspects of personal promotion within the assigned territory, ensuring effective, efficient, and compliant operations aligned with Esperion’s sales and marketing resources.
Responsibilities
- Achieve individual territory sales goals as approved by Esperion Commercial Leadership.
- Review performance metrics with the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) to ensure maximum sales results.
- Develop and maintain strong business relationships with key customers in the assigned geography.
- Effectively promote and educate Health Care Providers (HCPs) on Esperion products through one-on-one meetings, virtual engagements, company-approved promotional speaker programs, and other approved initiatives.
- Analyze local market trends, develop, execute, and monitor performance to maximize the appropriate use of Esperion products.
- Demonstrate successful use of sales and marketing tools and resources to achieve business objectives.
- Maintain appropriate knowledge of Esperion product payer coverage to deliver against market access objectives.
- Periodically attend local, regional, and national congresses to promote Esperion brands to HCP attendees.
- Complete administrative tasks accurately and timely, including sample inventory, call submission and reporting, expense management, vehicle mileage reporting, and related duties.
- Ensure compliance with all corporate policies and procedures, including required compliance training and adherence to company values.
- Follow Esperion Expense Report guidelines and adhere to the allocated territory budget.
- Establish and maintain effective communications among RSMs and Territory Managers (TMs) to organize and monitor performance.
- Monitor and maintain consistency between Sales and Marketing efforts to ensure high standards for executing business initiatives.
- Work closely with sales leadership and Market Access to maximize pull-through from commercial and government payers.
- Maintain vendor credentialing requirements (e.g., VendorMate, RepTrax) to retain access to customer locations.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; preferred degree in sciences (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Kinesiology, Pre-med, or other STEM background).
- 1–3 years of pharmaceutical or relevant sales experience, or equivalent education and experience. Candidates with a military background or similar experience demonstrating drive and discipline will also be considered.
- Experience calling on or working with Healthcare Professionals preferred but not required.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 30%, including overnight stays for territory business and occasional Regional and National Sales Meetings.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record that meets Esperion employment standards.
- Documented track record of consistent high performance in sales, academics, athletics, or other similar endeavors.
- Desire to work in a start-up environment or successful experience operating in an entrepreneurial sales model with sole responsibility for product promotion within a large geographic territory.
