Responsibilities
- Identify new business opportunities with new clients and distributors within assigned territory, focusing 60% of effort on this goal.
- Develop and increase sales revenue to meet assigned targets.
- Assist distributors with organizational skills, account strategies, territory planning, and administrative responsibilities to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Actively participate in new distributors’ sales orientation and training programs.
- Serve as a resource to distributors for contract opportunities, proposals, and proformas.
- Assist distributors with contract negotiations, closing sales, and developing marketing plans for contract accounts.
- Assist with planning sales exhibits, attend trade shows, and participate in education and training conferences on selling and marketing programs.
- Coordinate and assist in leading sales meetings, including site selection and agenda preparation.
- Stay informed about new products, services, and other general information of interest to customers.
- Monitor competitive activity and develop new methods to acquire distributors and assist them in gaining new accounts.
- Troubleshoot problems regarding products provided, answer distributor questions, and handle complaints.
- Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Five or more years of sales experience.
- Three years of field sales experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and negotiation skills, with a focus on closing sales.
- Hands-on knowledge of association needs and capabilities.
- Excellent formal presentation skills before both small and large groups.
- Experience managing large territories and diverse product offerings.
- Coaching or mentoring experience with less senior sales staff.
- Ability to stay abreast of new technology trends, association needs, and their real-world applications.
- Ability to lift 50–80 pounds.
- Proven ability to meet established sales quotas and revenue goals.
